Refund and Cancellation Policy

Effective date: 22 October 2026

  • Donations are voluntary and are not normally refunded.
  • We refund duplicate or mistaken payments if you ask within 15 days of the donation.
  • Approved refunds go back to the original payment method.

1. Donations are voluntary

Every donation to SVIRA Foundation is a voluntary contribution to our charitable work. Once a donation has been received and used for our programmes, it cannot normally be returned.

2. When we refund a donation

We refund a donation in full if:

  • it was a duplicate payment, for example the same donation was charged twice; or
  • it was made by mistake, for example a wrong amount was entered, such as ₹50,000 instead of ₹5,000.

You must ask for the refund within 15 days of the date of the donation.

3. How to ask for a refund

Write to info@svirafoundation.org with:

  1. your name and the email address or mobile number used for the donation;
  2. the payment reference (it starts with pay_ and appears on your thank-you screen and Razorpay’s confirmation email);
  3. the date and amount of the donation; and
  4. the reason for the refund.

We will reply within 7 working days. Approved refunds are sent back to the original payment method (UPI, card or bank account) through our payment provider, Razorpay. Depending on your bank, the money usually reaches your account within 5 to 10 working days after we approve the refund.

4. Tax receipts for refunded donations

If we have already issued a tax receipt for a donation that is refunded, that receipt is cancelled, and the refunded amount must not be claimed as a deduction. We correct our records and statements to the Income Tax Department accordingly.

5. Failed payments

If a payment fails, you are not charged. If money was debited from your account but the payment did not complete, your bank or Razorpay normally returns it automatically within 5 to 7 working days. If it does not, write to us with the details and we will help.

6. Cancellations

A one-time donation cannot be cancelled once the payment is complete; please see section 2 for refunds. When we introduce monthly donations, you will be able to cancel future payments at any time before the next payment date.
